Company to offer its innovative solution to Vermont Fuel Dealers Association members with special pricing.
MARBLEHEAD, Mass., December 9, 2020: As a result of a new partnership with the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association, Slick Energy will offer virtual heating oil tank inspection software to Vermont fuel retailers starting today with special pricing being offered until the end of the month. The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources requires that all above-ground tanks be inspected every three years; Covid-19 has made this mandate particularly challenging in 2020 and for the foreseeable future. As a much needed solution, the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources have approved Slick Energy’s proprietary Tank Tracker SaaS application to perform virtual tank inspections. Slick Energy will work with fuel dealers and regulators in Vermont to adopt this innovative and timely technology.
Tank Tracker is a contactless data collection application developed by the Slick Energy team during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic. It addresses dual safety concerns: the health and well-being of tank owners and inspectors, and the overall condition of above-ground tanks. Tank Tracker combines ease-of-use with high-level functionality. Following clear prompts, customers or inspectors upload tank photos and videos, answer questions, and relay information directly through their smartphones. Slick Energy’s customized solution for Vermont fuel dealers will result in the digital completion of the state-mandated tank system inspection form.
“The Slick Energy Tank Tracker software can make compliance with Vermont’s tank regulations easier, safer and more efficient,” said VFDA Executive Director Matt Cota. “The state of Vermont has approved the use of virtual tank inspections and the Slick Energy software is one of the most comprehensive ways to ensure fuel oil is delivered safely and stored securely.”
According to Slick Co-founder Chris Buchanan, “Slick is honored to offer our solution for Vermont’s oilheat and kerosene suppliers. Tank Tracker modernizes the inspection process and can be used remotely by homeowners or by tank inspectors in the home. This fully automated digital experience will help standardize the important work of inspecting tanks. We are happy to be working with Matt Cota and his team to make this a big win for the state of Vermont. ”
Slick Energy and the Vermont Fuel Dealers Association share the concerns of potentially compromised fuel tanks adversely affecting the environment. Both entities have a shared understanding of, and enthusiasm about, how Tank Tracker can mitigate environmental impact. Slick Co-founder PJ Solomon weighs in: “There are 111,000+ oil tanks in Vermont and millions more throughout New England. We are committed to ensuring that tanks all over our region are safe and functional and we believe that Tank Tracker is the best way to accomplish this task. The environmental implications are top-of-mind. This doesn’t just solve that, but it also creates an unbelievably efficient way for all to pitch in and help through a simple solution— we’ve streamlined the process while simultaneously reducing dealer workload and customer concerns.”
In addition to its remote inspection features, Tank Tracker will help Vermont Fuel Dealers Association members with the State of Vermont’s recordkeeping requirements. The cloud-based software is compliant with the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources’ AST Inspection Checklist. Solomon notes, “Your inspectors don’t have to fill out paperwork with Tank Tracker. They simply answer the same onscreen questions that are on that form. The result of the inspection is automatically sent to the tank owner and the fuel dealer has a copy stored in their Tank Tracker account. It should save dealers a lot of time and money.”
